N45658 Annual 2001 - Day 7

Day seven has been productive. There are no pictures to see as this is a detail type day with nothing to see. I changed the oil checking the oil screen in the process, of course. Checked the fuel strainer. Took care of the plug wires making sure not to run them through the lifting eye as they were to start with. Hooked up the scat tubing hose where it was off from the exhaust wrap. Made sure the exhaust system looked good especially where the heater wrap is. Cleaned and repacked the wheel bearings. Got my daughter to vacuum and wipe out the tail cone. Last but not least for today I finished the mounting bracket for the oil pressure/temperature gauge. Removed the extra spacers between the panel and subpanel. I also went to the store and got more rags for my hanger and the vinyl to cover the glare shield. Instead of black I bought slate gray as I think it will go better with the red/gray upholstery of the plane. Last but not least I went step by step around the lube chart inspecting and lubricating each pulley and guide.

I'm ready! Actually ready! I meet with my A&P/IA at 8:00 AM. I am looking forward to it. I hope he will be pleased with what he finds and if not, I'll know better what to do next year. So far I have about 25 hours of my labor and 25 hours of my wife and daughter's combined. They have been so helpful and are the biggest reason that the plane is ready for inspection and reassembly. I feel real good about things tonight so I am sure I'll get knocked down a notch or two tomorrow.

Dave
