N45658 Annual 2001 - Day 4

Day four is over and things are still going as planned. I did not go to the hanger today as I am lucky enough to have very good fabrication and painting facilities at my work. I just made sure I had everything I needed when I left last night. I ordered new cables for the carb heat, cabin heat, and one for the parking brakes. They will all match upon completion. Tomorrow I intend to do some light sanding on the panel and painting the Imron. Afterwards I will be heading to the hanger and cleaning on the plane. I need to get it all cleaned out and take up the front floor boards. I have left them in for the time being to help catch rivet pieces. Friday I intend to go through each pulley doing my cleaning and lubrication best. Saturday is money day. The day when my A&P/IA is there for inspections and panel installation. The more I have done the better life will be.

The instrument panel is now completely cut, cleaned, etched, and epoxy primed.
I stripped the existing paint from the mag switch and have primed it. It will end out painted the same color as the panel with the lever being black
The sub panel is also ready to rock and roll through priming. I hate to admit it but I screwed up. If you look closely you will see the two center, bottom holes with a cut to fit an altimeter. OOPs!
All of the miscellaneous panel parts are ready through priming. Tomorrow will be sanding, washing and Imron time.

It's hard to go wrong with friends watching over you!
